This Symposium, to be organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), an affiliate of the Arab League, is considered as an important one as it sheds light on how to utilize the Arab information and knowledge resources and invest in them to increase revenues of public and private institutions.
The symposium aims at introducing investment in information technology (IT), reviewing the role of investment in IT in boosting economy and identifying standards of investment in IT at the public and private sectors.
The symposium is to cover a number of themes, including: What kind of investment is needed in IT. This theme explains the concept and requirements of investment in IT, legal and legislative requirements for this investment, the relation of IT with other different economic sectors and areas of IT investment at the public and private sectors. The second theme discusses the role of investment in IT in economy. It reviews the role of this investment in upgrading the efficiency of the public sector and its role in economic development. The third theme reviews standards of investment in IT at the public and private sectors. The fourth theme discusses the reality of investment in IT in the Arab world. It reviews some models of investment I IT in the Arab world, the contribution of banks and companies in funding investment I IT and the role of universities and scientific search institutions in encouraging researches and creative works in investment in IT in addition to the most important risks and challenges facing i
nvestment in IT in the Arab world.
