AT&T recognized the existence of a security hole in its website that might have likely endangered the emails of more than 100.000 of iPAD Users. The Company said that this weakness might have made them soft targets for Hackers attacks.
The Company added that only iPAD users who signed up for AT&T's "3G" wireless Internet service were affected by this weakness.
The weakness simply makes the log on of iPAD users to their accounts with AT&T very easy.
The Hackers group that claims to have discovered this security weakness in AT& T website said that they have penetrated the e-mails of more than 114.000 iPAD users including senior governmental officials and famous media personalities.
A representative of the group told Associated Press that they have notified AT&T with this weakness and waited until it was removed before airing the information. However, AT&T said that one of its customers reported this problem to the company.
A statement released by the Company said that it gives maximum importance to the privacy of its customers and that it has apologized to the customers who were affected by the problem.
It’s to be noted that this security hole took place during the last week.
