Under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the 9th International Information Technology Exhibition for Saudi Arabia (GITEX Saudi Arabia 2010) will be opened on April 25, 2010.
The event, which will be held at the Riyadh International Exhibitions Center, will run till April 29. MCIT is taking part in this event by showcasing its programs and activities in its pavilion.
GITEX exhibition is one of the world’s premier IT technology shows.
The event is an important one of its kind in the region as Saudi Arabia remains the largest market for software solutions in the region, with a value of $637 million in 2009, up from $570 million in 2008. The sector should continue to grow at 12% over the forecasted 2008-2013 period. Computer sales – including PCs, notebooks and accessories – totaled almost $1.5 billion for 2008, with the segment growing at a CAGR of 10% between 2008 and 2013.
Saudi Arabia is at the forefront of a growing regional computer and IT market. The Kingdom’s strong computer and IT market expansion is being fuelled by a rapidly-increasing population, expected to double in the Saudi capital Riyadh over the next five years. The event, moreover, would increase yet further the already countless opportunities for foreign investors.
GITEX provides a perfect platform for IT technology and computer providers’ latest products and ensuring maximum exposure to the industry’s leading players, as well as to a variety of high-power Saudi public decision-makers.
