  Long Vision

The Long Term vision (general strategy) for the information technology plan is well studied, successively designed, interactive, co-ordinated and flexible. It is designed for the optimum use of the community different resources to achieve the great objectives of the community in the fields of information technology and related sectors and fields. It consists of a long term vision, general and other specific objectives, policies, and mechanisms for achieving those goals. The plan general strategy provides a long-term image for information technology fields and related sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This step (The establishment of the long term vision) is considered important for the preparation of detailed or five-years plans because it would be wrong to make a middle term planning (five-years plans) without a long term vision image (long term strategy) of information and its technologies which would govern these detailed plans and establish connection between them. The absence of a flexible, long term general strategy will lead to adoption of short vision plans which may not achieve the best in the long run even if they appear to be logical as to their short term vision.

Components of Long term Vision:

  • Future Vision for the comming 20 years.
  • Specific Objectives.
  • General objectives.
  • Policies (Implementation Mechanisms).
