Eng. Mulla Patronizes MoU Signing with Council for Saudi Chambers

Riyadh-

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) signed here on Saturday, August 30, 2008, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Council for Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CSCCI). The signing ceremony was patronized by H.E. Eng. Mohamed Jamil Mulla, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

The MoU was signed, on behalf of CSCCI, by its chairman sheikh Saleh bin Ali Al-Turki while Eng. Ali bin Saleh Al-Samei, director general of e-government program (YESSER), signed for MCIT.

The memorandum comes with the framework of CSCCI endeavor to implement the concept of e-government transactions program.

In statements following the MoU signing ceremony, Eng. Al-Samei hailed the step taken by the Council for Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, adding that the move will connect the Council with the Government Service Bus (GSB).

He noted that within the frame of the implementation of e-government service concept, the e-government program has initiated GSB, which aims at providing a common infrastructure between government agencies.

He added that GSB is a central platform of integration and services for the provision of different government electronic services and transactions and a provider of shared services between government departments like user identity verification, e-payment and core data exchange between government entities.

Eng. Al-Saemei said that this MoU would enable CSCCI to benefit from the GSB services relevant to the nature of the Council’s activities.
