H.E. Eng. Mohamed Jamil Mulla, Minister of Communications and Information Technology patronized on Saturday May 2, 2009 (7 Jamad Awal 1430H.), a gathering for information and communication technology (ICT) personnel. The event was hosted by ICT committee of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
The theme of the meeting is “The National Communications and Information Technology Plan (NCITP) and the Development of ICT Industry.”
The aim of this event is to acquaint those working in the sector with the objectives of NCITP and to discuss and share views on the priorities of the projects that Riyadh Chamber’s ICT committee plans to execute.
The program included presentation and discussion of issues related to ICT sector and the employment of this technology in the different work aspects.
In this context, Dr. Mohammed Al-Qasem, advisor to H.E. the Minister of Communications and Information Technology and supervisor of NCITP, made a presentation on the Plan under the title: “Trends for supporting ICT industry.”
For his part, Dr. Suliman Mirdad, vice governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) presented the outcomes of a new survey conducted by the Commission about aspects pertaining to the development of the use of ICT in small- and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs).
Eng. Abdul Jabbar Al-Abdul Jabbar, chairman of ICT at RCCI made a presentation about projects priorities of ICT committee during its current session.
The function was attended by officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) as well as those in charge of ICT at the private sectors and reporters.
