Governor of communications and Information technology commission held a press conference

Governor of CITC , head of the steering committee for the E-government program  and the head of the supervisory committee for the second national E-Government  conference , Dr. Abdul Rahman al-Jaafari   said that a number of governmental agencies have started projects of electronic services paving the way for the public to make use of it. He went on saying that these electronic transactions include the E- payment of all governmental fees, registration and admission services maintained by all Saudi universities, in addition to the trade license issued by the ministry of Labor, E-Price index in the ministry of Commerce and the municipal services in some municipalities. He added that regardless of these valuable efforts the E-government program will continue support and facilitate financing to help government agencies shift to the E-Government program.

Al-Jaafari revealed that the E-Government program aims at connecting all the government agencies and help easy transfer of data between them.

Regarding the second national E-Government  conference which will be held under the sponsorship  of  his majesty the custodian of the two holy mosques King Abdullah  bin Abdul-Aziz  , Al-Jaafari said that it will launch in Riyadh  in the period between 25-29 September corresponding 16-20 of Shawal 1431 H.

The Governor added that at the present we have more than 700 E-services   in the kingdom and this number is expected to increase proving that the kingdom is witnessing a quantitative and qualitative leap in this field due to the sound vision and the careful planning of our leadership and as the result of fruitful cooperation between the various government agencies.

He added that what distinguishes the conference this time that more that twelve training workshops and panel discussions in various related topics will be held preceding to the beginning of the conference.

Al-Jaafari further revealed that the conference will also witness exhibition space which will be devoted to present the progress achieved by the various government agencies regarding the E-Government transactions.

It’s to be noted that, the press conference was attended by the representatives of the ministry of communication and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, communications and Information technology commission, the director of E-government transactions program “yosr” Eng. Ali Bin Salih AL-Soma besides the representative of Mobily Company the sponsor and the official partner of the conference, the managing director and the CEO of Etihad Etisalat Mobily.

During the press conference the sponsorship contract of the   second national E-Government conference was signed between  the director of E-government transactions program “yosr” Eng. Ali Bin Salih AL-Soma and the Eng. Khalid Al-Kaf the managing director and CEO of Etihad Etisalat upon which Mobily has been named as  the sponsor and the official partner of the conference.

At the end of the conference Al-Jaafari thanked the members of the steering committee of the E-government transactions program and the members of the executive committee of the conference for their valued efforts exerted to achieve the   stated objectives of E-government program for the benefit of our beloved country.
