Women in Data Science Forum (WiDSPSU)

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Prince Sultan University is organizing its second edition of the Women in Data Science Forum (WiDSPSU) in collaboration with Stanford University, on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, from 08:30 to 18:00.

WiDSPSU will bring together high profile international researchers and industry pioneers. Guest speakers will include Arab and International female data scientists in Academia, Corporations, and Start-ups. It will have prominent speakers in the region deliver keynote speeches and participate in panel discussions, and will bring together high profile international researchers and industry pioneers.

The forum will address a number of topics including: Applications of Data Science in Education, Law, Healthcare and Digital Humanities; Machine Learning for Data Science and Analytics; Latest Trends and Techniques in Data Science. parallel workshop sessions will be held to address topics including: use of machine learning, latest trends and techniques in data science, and data analysis using Python.

Held at 150 locations worldwide, WiDS aims to inspire and educate data scientists and support women in the field. Guest speakers will include Arab and International female data scientists in Academia, Corporations, and Start-ups. It also aims to foster interest and professional participation by women in not only data science but also in engineering and computer science as a whole.

Prince Sultan University(PSU) is the WiDS Ambassador, for Standford and the forum aims to expose the latest data science research and practices in the Arab Middle East by promoting the exchange of ideas, encourage mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration. The forum would connect regional researchers and practitioners to pioneering global data science networks.PSU is the first university to address data science in the Kingdom in partnership with the Stanford Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering @ Stanford.
