Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2019)

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, will participate in the events of the 14th Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2019) affiliated with the United Nations. It will be held from 25 to 27 November 2019 in Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany, with broad regional and international presence, featuring  Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations. 

IGF aims to exchange ideas, insights and collaborate on Internet governance. Highlights of the IGF 2019 will include Internet Governance, Digital Economy or Internet Economy, Artificial Intelligence, Data and Cybersecurity, and related laws and codes.

Participants in the High-Level Internet Governance Exchange session will discuss the following topics: Data Governance (How trust in the global Internet can be enhanced and how the role of data can be used for fostering growth and development all over the world); Security & Safety, Stability & Resilience (Potential risks to security and safety from various angles with due consideration to how stability and resilience can be achieved); Digital Inclusion (How fostering digital inclusion of marginalised groups contributes to enhanced economic development, job creation, welfare and democracy).

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a multi-stakeholder forum for policy dialogue on issues of Internet governance. It brings together all stakeholders in the Internet governance debate, whether they represent governments, the private sector or civil society, including the technical and academic community, on an equal basis and through an open and inclusive process. The IGF was mandated at the 2005 WSIS held in Tunis to be principally a discussion forum for facilitating dialogue between the Forum's participants.
