MCIT inaugurates Saudi Digital Academy to qualify national cadres in modern technologies

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has announced today the launch of the Saudi Digital Academy (SDA) as one of the key national initiatives aimed at developing the digital capabilities of the Saudi youth in the field of modern and advanced technologies in partnership with the private sector, as well as applying the best international experiences.

“SDA aims to qualify national cadres for quality jobs in the field of modern and advanced technologies, develop the abilities of talented people and innovators in digital skills and entrepreneurship, and to utilize their creative energies to provide quality innovations that support digital transformation as one of the most important objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 in building a digital society, a digital government, a thriving digital economy and a better future,” said H.E. Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

SDA has basic pillars, which include building a strategic relationship with the technology development companies, linking them to the ICT sector, and attracting distinguished staff of experts and specialists with expertise in transferring knowledge and providing students with skills related to modern and advanced technologies.  It also seeks to attract outstanding students who are able to join the quality programs in the fields of modern and advanced technology, and to provide a training environment that is smart, attractive and inspiring for students through employing the latest technologies, laboratories, centers of innovation and advanced equipment.
