Minister of Communications and Information Technology His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha held a meeting with a high-profile delegation from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and a number of ICT officials in the United States of America. The US delegation included the Chairman of the FCC Mr. Ajit Pai.

The two parties discussed issues of digital cooperation between the two countries and ways to stimulate ICT investments in the Saudi market, exchange experiences in the field of digital transformation, catalyze all potentials to realize digital communities by creating a digital infrastructure that supports modern technologies and promotes the use of their applications.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Swaha highlighted the ICT-related regulatory reforms and policies put in place by the Kingdom, which contributed to the advancement of the sector, spurring further investments in the digital infrastructure and R&D centers. He invited US companies to strengthen their presence in the Kingdom being the most promising digital hub in the region.

The meeting also discussed issues of digital economy and role of networks and modern technologies in supporting the expansion of government services and reaching broader horizons that serve the process of digital transformation and develop digital capabilities of the youth.
