Minister of Communications pays visit to Saudi Press Agency

Yesterday, His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, visited the headquarters of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA​) in Riyadh, where he was received by HE Mr. Abdullah Al-Hussein, President of the SPA.

During the tour, Eng. Al-Swaha was briefed on the different departments and sections of the SPA as well as their workflow, including the departments of IT, photography and TV production, local and international editing, and social media, which embraces state-of-art technical equipment. Al-Swaha listened to a detailed explanation about the mechanism of the daily media work and the stages of publishing news until it reaches the receiver via the SPA’s automated publishing system, in addition to the technical and editorial capabilities available to provide a qualitative work to keep pace with the national advancement in all fields, and the way it addresses the different media sucks and materials.

Moreover, the officials of the SPA presented an explanation for the mechanism of work and publishing through the SPA’s new portal and the social media on the different platforms.

Concluding his visit, Al-Swaha expressed his admiration for the technical and professional progress he had witnessed in processing the huge number of daily news received from the various sources, and then re-editing them to be published through the different media. He also indicated the MCIT’s readiness to provide all technical support and consultations as required by the SPA.
