CITC warns users not to disclose private data

As part of its efforts to ensure adequate and reliable protection for all users of telecom services when using telecom networks, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has warned today all mobile and Internet users not to respond to any request alleging that the user had won monetary reward and requiring opening unreliable website link or transferring money to receive the reward, whether through mobile calls, SMS or social media medium.

CITC called on all users of telecom services not to disclose private data, so as not to be victims of such actions aimed at fraud or collection of information in irregular ways.

CITC is continuously improving the experience of users with telecom services, and is constantly keen to communicate with them and raise their awareness of their rights and responsibilities. Thus in a short period of time, several initiatives have been launched to improve the user experience. In this regard, CITC intends to launch a new interactive complaint management system.
