Makkah Governor meets with Minister of Communications and Information Technology

Today at his office in Jeddah, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Province, received His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).

Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha gave a detailed explanation of the Ministry's plans until 2020 for the deployment of wireless broadband, the delivery of service to more than 900 villages and residential communities, and the coverage of more than 80,000 homes in areas not covered by the service. He also noted that currently there are over 17,000 communities connected in the provinces of the Northern Borders, Jouf, Hail, Tabuk, Qassim, Riyadh, Madinah, Makkah, Eastern Province, Asir, Baha, Najran and Jazan.

In addition, Al-Swaha discussed the progress of work in the projects being implemented as well as those successfully completed by the Ministry in Al-Jumoum Governorate in Makkah Province.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Swaha expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the Emirate of Makkah Province, stressing that its support and attention have been a key driver of the ministry’s achievements in the province.
