His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, visited on Sunday The Armed Forces Exhibition for Diversity of Requirements and Capabilities (AFED 2018
), organized at Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. The Minister Al-Swaha was accompanied by a number of the ministry’s senior officials.
Eng. Al-Swaha initiated his visit by touring AFED’s pavilions, including the ministry’s pavilion, where he listened to the most significant new innovations showcased by the exhibitors.
Al-Swaha emphasized the ministry's keenness to participate in all official forums and exhibitions inside and outside the Kingdom for many purposes, including demonstrating the development in the ICT sector in the Kingdom and enabling investors to explore the good investment opportunities saved by this promising sector. He also indicated that the exhibition’s idea based on supporting the local industry would serve as an opportunity to motivate all entrepreneurs in all disciplines to contribute to this great national work, reiterating that the ministry's participation also comes within its efforts to introduce participants to the great and huge developments within the sector, with the purpose of supporting creative and innovative ideation, in order to motivate the private companies and technology firms as well as the Saudi professionals to transform their projects and ideas into businesses and activities that enrich the technology industry down to achieving localization at all levels, in addition to boosting the orientations of the Vision 2030
that which has provided great support to the ICT sector.
Furthermore, the Minister pointed out that AFED represents important and key station for international companies to settle their factories in the Kingdom and build a supply chain with the participation of the Saudi public and private sectors, extending his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, for their patronage of the exhibition in its fourth edition.
It is noteworthy that the ministry’s successful seven-day participation with a pavilion at AFED has been aimed at showing the great development witnessed by the ICT sector in conjunction with the efforts exerted by the relevant government entities and major national ICT companies, in addition to highlighting the heavy weight of the sector that has become one of the most effective sectors in the development process and business growth, and spotlighting the growing investments in the sector.
