Ministry of Education honors Ministry of ICT, commends its support to education in southern border
The Ministry of Education has recently honored the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for its efforts and significant role in supporting the education process in the southern border "For You 2". The honoring took place at a ceremony organized at Jazan University by the Southern Border Educational and Technical Support Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Education, in the presence of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Jazan Province and Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Assimi, Deputy Minister of Education, where Eng Fahad Al-Amaj represented the Ministry of ICT.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of ICT's efforts in cooperation with educational partners have resulted in the provision of educational services to more than 170,000 students, twinning about 1,037 schools, provision of e-learning on virtual schools, bus transport services, and signing about 1,000 individual contracts with parents, in addition to delivery of 400 training courses for education leaders in the southern border, and training around15,000 teachers.
The efforts are in line with the ministry's objectives under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 related to development of digital economy by empowering and supporting government entities (ministries of education, health and commerce) to avail of digital transformation.
