A cyber drill entitled ‘Cyber Craft’ has been inaugurated by His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, on Thursday, July 19, 2018. The inauguration was in the presence of Eng. Nasser Al-Nasser, STC’s CEO and HE Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC). The cyber drill is organized by STC Solutions, affiliated with the STC Group.

The Minister valued the initiative of STC Solutions to launch this program, which seeks to build national professional capacities in the field of cybersecurity based on best practices and international standards, to enable Saudi Arabia to rank among the developed countries in the industry of modern technology knowledge. He indicated that the program’s objectives are consistent with growing demand for cybersecurity professionals, especially as the services in the Kingdom are undergoing a rapid digital transformation in line with the objectives of the Vision 2030.

"STC is playing a pivotal role in the Vision 2030 as enabler of digital transformation in the public and private sectors," said Eng. Nasser Al Nasser. "Through this program, STC Solutions is training young Saudi cadres in cybersecurity, which is experiencing considerable growth in demand for its services locally and globally, as one of the growth paths of the STC Group in accordance with the strategy of growth and digital transformation,” he noted.

Omar Al-Noamani, CEO of STC Solutions, said, "This initiative is the first of its kind. It is focused on the important age group of young people, as their training on cybersecurity will open the way for them to determine their educational and vocational path early as well as to take advantage of their potentials properly.

The ‘Cyber Craft’ will be implemented in collaboration with two leading global companies in the field of cybersecurity e-learning, aiming to train over 150 students in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar.  Students will be given a one-month summer training course that will end with accreditation.
