His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications, held a meeting recently with His Excellency the Minister of Transport Dr. Nabil Al-Amoudi, in the presence of President of General Authority of Civil Aviation Mr. Abdulhakim Al-Tamimi, Governor of Saudi Customs Mr. Ahmed Al-Haqbani, and Acting President of Saudi Postal Corporation Eng. Mohammed Al Abduljabbar.

During the meeting, Mr. Faisal Al-Badah, Head of Trade Facilitation Office at Saudi Customs, explained the progress of the ‘Quick Wins Project’ -an initiative introduced by the Saudi Customs under the sponsorship of the Minister of ICT and the Minister of Transport, in partnership with the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Saudi Postal Corporation. The Quick Wins Project is aimed improving the level of services provided to citizens by through availing of transport services such as parcels, finalizing customs procedures, and organizing and facilitating transactions between the relevant authorities. It particularly targets parcels transported through the main airports, in light of the increased number of parcels that delayed the sorting and delivery to beneficiaries. It focuses on the transparency and defining fees and recipients of parcels and enabling them to pay those fees easily, as well as accelerating the process of delivery at all airports and sorting and processing zones, all together forming one of the pillars of the initiative aimed at enabling and accelerating the work and provide all that would serve citizen.

At the end of the meeting, Eng. Al-Swaha stressed the MCIT’s keenness and support for the existing collaboration between the four parties, commending the distinct level of their coordination to innovate new and distinctive solutions geared to improving customer experience. He also pointed out that the next few years would witness a more comprehensive efforts by all concerned sectors, which will have a significant impact on changing and facilitating the reality of life, such as e-commerce and logistics, with a high level of transparency and clarity, in order to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030 calling for the integration of sectors and upgrading the level of e-Government.
