NCDC approves Transport Ministry, Taif University as Govt digital certification providers

The Ministry of Transportation and Taif University were recently approved as providers of government digital certification services. They were approved after they had successfully fulfilled the requirements of the National Center for Digital Certification (NCDC), affiliated with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

This approval enables both entities to issue digital certificates as well as to avail of other relevant services, such as verification of identity, digital signature, data encryption, and fixing shortcomings, like the difficulty of verifying the identities of online transactors.

It is worth mentioning that NCDC is working to provide a complete ecosystem for the administration of public key infrastructure (PKI) on which all the electronic services, like e-commerce and e-Government, are based. “PKI” enables online transactors, whether Government agencies, citizens or businesses, to perform all electronic transactions with confidentiality and trustworthiness.
