New technique for conducting medical operations without surgical procedures

She is a Saudi scientist who was awarded the NIH New Innovator Award in the United States, which is awarded to the best research project, for the invention of a new technique that enables conducting medical operations inside the human body without surgical procedures.
 
Al-Motairi graduated from the Chemistry Department at  Occidental College in Los Angeles, and then completed her master's degree in biochemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. She received a PhD from the California State University in Chemical Engineering.
 
In addition, she is currently a professor at the University of California, San Diego, USA. She received the NIH New Innovator Award of US $3 million from the largest scientific research support organization in the United States. The award enjoys an outstanding coverage in the international scientific community, and is awarded to the best research project out of ten thousand projects proposed by researchers.
