Alswaha Discusses Partnership to Support Growth of Regional Digital Economy with Huawei President

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Alswaha, held today in Shenzhen, China, discussions with the CEO and founder of Huawei, Ren Zhengfei. The talks revolved around opportunities to enhance cooperation and expand partnerships in digital infrastructure, modern technologies, and capacity development. These discussions took place during the minister's visit to China, which aims to strengthen relations in technology, space, and innovation.
With the fastest economic growth globally in 2022 and the largest share of the digital economy in the region, the Kingdom is actively seeking to support its transformation efforts towards an innovation-based economy. It also aims to consolidate its leading role and promote economic growth within the Kingdom and across the region.
As part of his visit, the minister toured the company and had the opportunity to meet several Saudi students and talents who are undergoing intensive training within a program designed to enhance digital capabilities. This training program is a partnership between the Saudi Digital Academy and Huawei ICT Academy, and it aims to establish the Kingdom as a hub for digital talents in the region.
