Elon Musk and Jensen Huang Announce Supercomputing Projects and Advanced Technologies at US-Saudi Investment Forum
The second edition of the US-Saudi Investment Forum featured a high-level session on Wednesday, chaired by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha. The session included participation from Founder and CEO of xAI, Tesla, and SpaceX Elon Musk, as well as CEO of NVIDIA Jensen Huang, to discuss the future of work and productivity amid the rapid acceleration of artificial intelligence and robotics.
Musk and Huang announced a series of new strategic initiatives, including the development of a new generation of high-capacity data centers in the Kingdom, the nationwide deployment of Grok models, a 500-megawatt large-scale computing project, and plans to deploy AI accelerators in collaboration with AWS and NVIDIA, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for AI computing.
These announcements came in conjunction with the launch of the Saudi–US AI Strategic Partnership. Musk revealed the large-scale computing project in partnership with NVIDIA, while Huang explained that his company is working with the Kingdom to build supercomputing systems, in addition to expanding collaboration with innovative companies such as HUMAIN to implement large-scale computing projects and advanced digital factories through the Omniverse platform.
Musk noted that technological transformations could make many jobs optional in the future, ushering in a new wave of productivity and growth driven by smart technologies.
Huang affirmed that AI has become a cornerstone of global infrastructure, pointing to advanced cooperation in high-performance computing, simulation, and digital laboratories, as well as the growing computing capabilities being built in the Kingdom through strategic partnerships.
Minister Alswaha also presented examples of Saudi innovation in discovering new materials using AI and in developing nanorobots to treat genetic diseases, highlighting the broad prospects these technologies offer for research and development.
At the conclusion of the session, Alswaha noted that the announced initiatives represent a concrete step toward a future driven by advanced computing capabilities and international partnerships that strengthen the Kingdom’s position in the global digital economy.
